This Privacy Policy explains how your personal information is collected, used, and disclosed by Saddletalk, a mobile application designed to facilitate live communication between riders and trainers during horseback riding sessions.
By using the Saddletalk app, you consent to the data practices described in this policy.
1. Information We Collect
We collect information to provide, improve, and protect our Services:
A. Information You Provide to Us
- Account Information: When you create an account, we collect your email address, password, and basic profile information necessary to authenticate and manage your identity.
- Communication Data: The core purpose of Saddletalk is to enable real-time audio communication. We process your real-time audio streams during active sessions.
- Audio Processing and Summaries: We process your audio sessions to generate summaries and action points within the app. Raw transcriptions are used internally for this purpose and are not accessible to users.
B. Device and Usage Data
- Device Information: We may collect specific information about your device, such as your operating system (iOS/Android) and device identifiers, to ensure the app functions correctly across different hardware.
- Microphone Access: The app requires access to your device's microphone to function. You will be prompted to grant this permission explicitly within your device settings.
- Camera Access: We use your device's camera exclusively for the purpose of scanning a QR code to join an active call. We do not record or store any video footage.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the collected information for the following purposes:
- To provide and maintain the core functionality of Saddletalk (live audio communication).
- To generate and store summaries and action points of your riding sessions for your personal review.
- To manage your account, authenticate users, and provide customer support (such as password reset functionality).
3. Third-Party Services We Use
Saddletalk relies on trusted third-party service providers to safely operate and scale our application. These services only access your data to perform tasks on our behalf and are obligated not to disclose or use it for any other purpose:
- Supabase: We use Supabase for our backend database, secure data storage, and user authentication (managing your login credentials and account data securely).
- GetStream: We use GetStream's infrastructure to power our real-time audio calls and real-time audio processing.
4. Data Retention and Deletion
We retain personal information we collect from you where we have an ongoing legitimate business need to do so (for example, to provide you with a service you have requested).
Account Deletion: You have the right to request the deletion of your account and associated data.
- When an account is scheduled for deletion, we will permanently remove your user information from our authentication systems (Supabase), our communication provider (GetStream), and delete or anonymize your participation in stored conversations in accordance with our retention schedules.
- You can delete your account directly in the app through the account settings.

5. Security of Your Information
We use industry-standard administrative, technical, and physical security measures to help protect your personal information (such as encrypted data transfers and secure authentication tokens). While we have taken reasonable steps to secure the personal information you provide to us, please be aware that despite our efforts, no security measures are perfect or impenetrable, and no method of data transmission can be guaranteed against any interception or other types of misuse.
6. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Effective Date" at the top. You are advised to review this Privacy Policy periodically for any changes.
